Your customers are searching nearby. Make sure you’re what they find.
Someone in Boynton Beach pulls out their phone and searches for a couples therapist. They don’t scroll. They look at the three businesses in the map pack, glance at the star ratings, and tap one.
That’s the whole decision. Ninety seconds, three slots, and you’re either in the box or you aren’t.
Being found nearby is a different game than ranking
Local search doesn’t work like the rest of search. Google weighs three things — how close you are to the person searching, how well you match what they asked, and how established you look across the web. Proximity you can’t change. The other two are the work.
And most of that work happens off your website. Your Google Business Profile, your listings, your reviews, and how consistently the internet describes your business matter more here than any page you publish. That surprises people who’ve been told local SEO is about putting city names in their headings.
What actually moves it and what gets sold instead
Plenty of agencies will sell you bulk submission to two hundred directories, city names stuffed into every page title, or a review system that quietly filters out the unhappy customers before they reach Google.
The first does almost nothing. The second reads as spam to both people and algorithms. The third violates Google’s policies and can get your profile suspended.
What actually works is less exciting and more durable: an accurate, complete, actively maintained profile; the same business details everywhere they appear; real reviews from real customers; and content that earns its geography instead of repeating it.
What we actually do
We review and optimize your Google Business Profile. Most businesses set it up once and never return. Categories chosen deliberately, services and attributes filled in, photos kept current, posts and Q&A actually used. It’s the highest-leverage asset in local search and the most commonly neglected.
An eligibility and compliance review. This is the one almost nobody does. Virtual office addresses, keyword-stuffed business names, and posted hours nobody is there for are all suspension risks and suspensions arrive without warning. We check whether your listing is built on ground that will hold, because a suspended profile costs you everything else on this list.
Listings that agree with each other. One version of your business name, address, phone, and description everywhere it appears. That includes Apple Business Connect, which is free, feeds Apple Maps and Siri, and which most businesses have never set up even when their Google profile is in good shape. If your customers hold iPhones, that’s a gap worth closing.
A review system you’ll actually use. A simple, repeatable way to ask at the right moment, and a habit of responding to what comes back. No gating, no incentives, nothing that puts your profile at risk.
Content that earns the geography. Pages worth ranking because they’re genuinely useful to someone in your area and not a city name dropped into a template twenty times.
Where this fits
Local SEO and AI search optimization are the same discipline pointed at two different readers, one who sees a list of links and one who gets an answer. Most clients need both, and we treat them as one plan.
That plan follows the same path as everything else we do: Discover, Create, Amplify, Grow. We start with your business and your customers, and the tactics follow from there.
For most clients this lives inside an ongoing Growth Partnership. Local visibility isn’t a project you finish. Competitors move, Google changes the rules, and your listings drift. The work is keeping all of it aligned.
Strategy first. Tactics second. Better marketing every time.
Who this is for
This fits established businesses serving a defined area including professional services, healthcare practices, trades, hospitality, anyone whose customers are nearby and deciding quickly.
It’s a poor fit if you have no physical service area, or if you’re looking for a quick technical trick. And if you’re just getting started, our LaunchPad services are the better place to begin.
Where to start
Start with a Local Visibility Audit.
We review your Google Business Profile against how it should be built, check your listings for conflicts, look at your review position against nearby competitors, and flag anything putting your profile at risk. You get a written findings document and a prioritized action plan, yours to keep, whether or not you work with us afterward.
From there, most clients move the ongoing work into a Growth Partnership.
